I was very lucky to have the opportunity to take a March 2019 flight in Colorado with Ecoflight. The crew photographed several recent slides in the area.

Bruce was an affable and unflappable pilot, as confident in every aspect of flying as he was helpful to the several of us on board who had never even sat in a small plane before.

The flight was thrilling - I will never forget seeing the Maroon Bells up close. But it wasn't just a visceral experience. I have a crystal clear memory of looking down at the snowy evergreen trees and seeing the top of each, in turn, become an absolutely perfect point as we passed overhead. Multiply this unexpected illustration of the perfection of nature, first by the dozens of trees radiating outward from that perspective, and then by the thousands upon thousands of trees in the landscape, and you will get something close to a spiritual experience.
