Rock-Paper-Scissors Children’s Fund has been working to help the disadvantaged children in my hometown, Cam Lam town, Khanh Hoa province, Vietnam, especially the kids from the ethnic minority groups. They have been working to provide opportunities for children through art, music, bikes, camps and tutoring program. Throughout the 10 years of implementation of the programs, it has been helping thousands of poor kids in the poor neighborhood. Lots of girls have had the opportunity to go to school, thouSands of kids have a bike to ride to school. Thank you so much!!!
Review for Rock-Paper-Scissors Children's Fund , Wakefield, RI, USA
"A small thing brings about a big change" is what I can think of whenever I come to bike giving or an art or music class conducted by Rock-Paper-Scissors Children's Fund. Since working for RPS, I gradually realise that sometimes charity is nothing huge like giving millions of dollar to someone. It is to give them an opportunity to feel confident like the way they can play the violin in public or draw a nice painting by themselves or own a pink bike. To me, I have been accompanying with RPS since 2012 and to be able see the kids from art and music programs grow not just physically but spiritually has been amazing. They were little boys and girls of 11 years old since participation in the programs until they are college students now and still playing the violin with the group whenever they come back home on weekends. And the favorite part of mine would be to see girls overjoyed at the bike givings. Some girls told me that they couldn't even sleep the night before the bike giving day because they were too excited to wait until they got the new bike. To most of Vietnamese people who come from poor villages like where we came to give bikes, a small bike is a big dream. And that big dream has been made real by generous donors. To think of the connection between donors from far apart of Vietnam and the beneficiaries though never meeting with each other leaves me a feeling of relief, believing that there is still love in this hard life. And I would also like to thank you those who work to make every single dream of kids come true.
