Review for Breast Cancer Prevention Partners, San Francisco, CA, USA
Breast Cancer Prevention Partners does a LOT of good work, especially considering how small the staff size is. They are one of the few breast cancer organizations focused on primary prevention of the disease (versus treatment and cures). 1 in 8 women in the U.S. will be diagnosed with breast cancer and more than half of all breast cancers cannot be attributed to traditional risk factors (genetics, reproductive history and diet). Which means we need to look and see what environmental exposures are out there that are contributing to this disease.
Love how BCPP strongly ties their advocacy work with science. They've also created big changes over the years with their market-campaigns - like phthalates ban in kids toys and BPA removal from the majority of canned goods.
