I had played violin for 9 years when I was younger, but hadn't really played for over 26 years. I decided I wanted to try lessons again to get myself back playing - it was hard to do on my own. So I called the Hochstein school and they matched me up with an amazing teacher who got me back playing - she was really able to help me get back to playing close to the level I had previously been at in less than a year. It's been an amazing experience. I was also able to join an adult chamber orchestra and have been playing with a group again.
I also love the fact that Hochstein provides scholarships for those who cannot afford it to help all kinds of people access music education. Plus being able to attend some amazing free concerts, including by the amazing faculty makes this school an asset to the community. I would highly recommend them to anyone both for their own education, and for a place that makes music and art accessible.
