August,2012...A Day that changed my life forever.I was a Single Mom of a 3 yr old son. Working 2 Full Time(yes,FT) jobs and still able to workout 6days a week and play with my boy.
I was handling transportation at San Jose Airport. A passenger needed a cab, I grabbed her 75lb bag with my left arm, let her in the cab and lifted the rear hatch with my right...Fully extended,right knee on rear bumper to stable.....Cab driver put cab in Reverse....That moment put me in a wheelchair and severely injured left shoulder....Drs said(6 to be exact) Id never walk again...7th Dr, 7 procedures,got me upright,but with a cane...
I went to Achieve to get back SOME of my adventurous soul and being able to ski downhill in a bucket,made me cry with joy.
Some dont understand how important ut is to get back your independence,your adventurous self..
The Team at Achieve Cheered me on and let me learn how to use the bucket ski and by the middle of the mountain,first pass, I did it!
The Instructors spoke so clearly and made it known that they were RIGHT THERE,if I needed..I felt like Batman on the Downhill!
THANK YOU for giving that day to me..My son was able to snowboard next to me and his eyes were tearing up as well....
