Review for Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank, Duquesne, PA, USA
The Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank is one of the most impressively run organizations that I have had experience with. They have a commitment to providing a necissary service to those in need of food assistance in Southwestern Pennsylvania and is striving to help meet the goal set by the State of Pennsylvania to erraticate hunger or "cronic undernurishment" by 2020 by expanding their service and operating at efficiency.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...
new programs and efforts to retrieve food from being unclaimed. Programs such as gleaning, Produce to People farm stands are really excellent at taking nutritious food that would otherwise go uneaten for various reasons and bring them to those who are having difficulty finding the means to purchase fresh fruits and vegetables.
What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...
the warm down to earth environment.
The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...
amazing. Everyone is kind and enthusiastic and committed to the mission.
If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...
provide $50 million dollars worth of food and services. But I would also say that it could easily expand infrastructure to support a larger food distribution network, which would mean trucks, new food assistance agencies, and more food to stock those agencies to give out to the people that are hungry.
