Review for Triage Cancer, Malibu, CA, USA
I was so overwhelmed with my cancer diagnosis and trying to find my way through treatment, while also trying to keep my job and not go bankrupt. Triage Cancer had a wealth of information in print and video form, and also in person and via webinars. I just started attending as many as I could to get my arms around all the information I needed to know. I attended some of the sessions several times over as there is a lot of details you don't know you need until you are "in the soup"! I have become somewhat of a cancer advocate - trying to assist newly diagnosed people - and I spread the word about the abundant resources at Triage Cancer every chance I get - most recently - last week on an online cancer forum.
Review for WeSPARK Cancer Support Center, Sherman Oaks, CA, USA
I so appreciate the welcome by the staff, and all of the participants in the support groups and other activities at weSPARK. I felt so lost when I was first diagnosed, "different" than the people in my life who had never heard the words "You have cancer". At weSPARK Cancer Support Center, it was a given that we had heard those words, or someone close to us had heard those words. When I come in and I look or feel different than a healthy person, everyone at weSPARK understands and no questions are asked, other than "How are you today?" with a warm welcome and a hug. The various programs offered allowed me to find healing modalities and stress reduction techniques that worked for me. I was able to sample these sessions at no cost, and then settle in to those that worked best for my life, still at no cost to me. I found wonderful new friends here, and we keep in touch outside of our support groups, checking in on each other from time to time. The connection and support is so important. I am a client and a donor of weSPARK Cancer Support Center and feel so fortunate to have this vital care close to where I live and work. Bless you all for the work you do!
