Review for Edu-Girls Inc, Bethesda, MD, USA
I met the founder Anand Seth a few years ago, and joined the organization as I was impressed with his passion and dedication to the cause of educating girls from poverty to self sustainability. At that time, they had one school Vimukti in Jaipur and they were looking for additional schools in South Asia to sponsor and support. As it turned out, my brother had been very active since his retirement, in support of the SRGVVK Trust school on the outskirts of Bangalore at the time. Anand had one of his retired colleagues from the World Bank who had retired in Bangalore to do due diligence on the school, and armed with that positive report he approached the school and visited it and took it on enthusiastically. He is always looking for local support (in this case my brother, who is actively involved) and of course his old colleague.
Since then Edu Girls has, with the help of the local rotary club in Bangalore, been able to secure a Global Grant from Rotary for further developing the infrastructure of the school and providing for uniforms, clean drinking water, extra toilets etc.
I have been very impressed with his tireless passion and continuous dedication to the task of educating as many girls as possible. Currently they have added a school in Nepal as well, and are always on the lookout for additional schools meeting the charity's goals.
I heartily recommend this award for Anand Seth.
