Review for Project Esperanza, Winchester, VA, USA
I have been blessed to be involved as a volunteer with Project Esperanza since 2013.
While working as a medical team in the Dominican Republic my teams were introduced to not 1 but 2 schools run by Caitlyn McHale for the Haitian children in Puerto Plata and Munoz.
We offered free medical drop in for the families at her schools and that has led to providing teaching of first aid, anatomy classes, and continued support of Project Esperanza and the community it influences.
In working with this group of people I and my teams have witnessed total commitment in changing lives through education and opportunities.
Caitlyn and her team of family, teachers and friends provide non profit schooling for an ever expanding group of children. Not only are they taught basic life skills, but also work in French, Spanish, and English languages. Computer skills have been offered which for the older students is a life changing chance to provide for job opportunities and expand futures.
What once was a dream of going to school past primary has become a reality through this non profit endeavors.
I have personally been influenced to give and give and give and be thankful knowing that my efforts are being used to create positive change.
There is an unending list of needs for this population as they are the backbone of Dominican Republic without the support of its population.
Again I am blessed to overflowing with the smiles, laughter, and gratitude I receive with my volunteer time.
Every time!
As many have shared I have so many stories and not enough time or words to share on the great achievements being done by this organization

Review for Project Esperanza, Winchester, VA, USA
I am an RN who wished to use her emergency room background to aid others and have sustainability through education. Since 2013 I have gone 1-2 times a year with groups of medical and nonmedical people. We have had 6-30 people and have held medical clinics and done first aid and anatomy teaching which Caitlin and her team sponsored and interpreted for. In all my groups we are in awe of the daily needs of the Haitian population in this Dominican world. We relish in their enthusiasm and talents. Their hugs and smiles sustain our sometimes long dusty days. I have seen Caitlin on a personal level support this Haitian world of children and their families with the utmost positive skills of education, concern for health and welfare, money for transport to jobs, food deliveries, and petitioning others to cover extreme medical needs. She is entrenched daily with these needs and meets them to the best of her and her families abilities. Her and her husband have made Project Esperanza a well known source of true volunteerism and the community benefits with children who are able to obtain education, go into high school and trade schools, have jobs, and beyond that self esteem and appreciation for others. Her energy seems limitless and without her many families would be destitute. I have proudly contributed to needs requested by Project Esperanza monetarily and sponsor 2 children through this nonprofit. Unlike other nonprofits I have trust where my money goes and accountability for its use since 2013. The very interpretation of this nonprofit is HOPE and it is provided non stop with ones money and time
