Canopy supports the growth of the urban tree canopy though education, tree planting and maintenance, and advocacy. My first exposure to Canopy was years ago through their website, which has excellent information about different tree species, and self-guided tree walks, so that the local public can easily see various mature trees for themselves. More recently, I've been involved in Canopy tree surveys, tree plantings, and been on guided tree walks. All of these Canopy offerings have been extremely well-organized, the educational materials superb, and the volunteer experience extremely satisfying. At a time when it is so important for people to reconnect with nature and to support nature, It is wonderful to have such an excellent resource in our community.
