Review for Keep Kids Fire Safe Foundation, Clarksville, AR, USA

Rating: 5 stars

I have known Dayna and the work she and her precious Dalmatians have done for many, many years. She has been a member of the fire service for a long time and is very aware of the needless tragedy of children who are burned or die in home fires. She knows how important it is for children to know what to do. So teaching them how to be more safe has always been a priority, and a calling for her. Equally important, she has always included her talented Dalmatian who helps to reinforce the skills being taught. Before she created her nonprofit foundation, she would look for ways to enable her to reach more children with this life saving knowledge. In the beginning she visited schools and other gatherings where she could teach children fire safety. Eventually she wrote and published a book for children about fire safety. And then, another book, etc., always looking for ways to help her reach more children.

She knows the importance of being involved in fire safety education from both vantage points, directly teaching children and also helping to create educational materials for the fire service to use so they can appropriately teach fire safety. She has served on professional committee's that have a direct national impact in creating appropriate educational materials for the fire service to use. Along the way she has been awarded grants and funding from companies to help her with the cost of her work. But as time went by she would realize the need for more support to increase her ability to reach more children, and eventually she created her nonprofit foundation. Not only could she teach fire safety to children across America, but she can literally reach children around the world with this valuable education through skyping! She has always been very creative in finding new ways to make a positive impact on our children, and the foundation helps her in her efforts. Always with her precious and talented Dalmatian (Molly) by her side who adds so much to her educational efforts.

I have had the pleasure of knowing Dayna professionally for many years. We both work in the area of fire prevention and safety education for those who are at a higher risk of injuries and death in a home fire. Over the years we have worked together on various projects. I have served on the Board of Directors of her foundation for several years. During that time I served as President of the Board for a year. We both are dog lovers. Her very talented fire safety Dalmatians have always had a special place in my heart and do a wonderful job of helping her teach valuable life saving skills to children. As a result she has been made aware of several instances when the knowledge she taught to a child directly impacted the safety of them and their family when there was a fire.
