The Cohasset Working Dog Foundation has provided trained and certified dog teams for the Paul Pratt Memorial Library's Reading Partners program. Reading Partners is a therapy dog reading program that meets weekly throughout the school year. Each week a team comes to interact with a number of families. We use varied models depending on the families needs. Some students come to rehearse reading skills in a safe environment with a non-judgmental listener. Au Pairs, not yet confident in their ESL skills, come and and rely on the handler or the children's librarian to do the reading. We have partnered with the CWDF for so long that we are able to quickly access the situation and provide a quality Reading Partners experience. CWDF has now expanded the program to include the Cohasset Public Schools. It an honor to be working with such a valuable community resource.
