Review for Aauw Florida Supporting Foundation Inc, Daytona Beach, FL, USA
Girls who attended Tech Trek returned excited about learning and seeing new possibilities for careers in science. STEM program are so important for girls at this age and this program really delivers.
Review for For Love of Children (FLOC), Washington, DC, USA
I worked with Perry, an engaging boy who had changed schools several times when he moved from living with one parent to another. He had missed some crucial lessons and his busy teacher was not able to help him pick up the pieces. His regular tutor was helping Perry fill in the gaps and FLOC provided a constant source of encouragement and support as he was learning critical skills. For me, Perry was an inspiration and the experience is very rewarding.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...
seeing students graduate from high school ready for college.
If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...
move the programs to other locations closer to the most needy students.
What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...
the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of children in DC.
The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...
dedicated and fun. Working with children requires patience and playfulness and the staff and other volunteers project this attitude.
If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...
help every child in DC to graduate from high school ready for college or trade school - this would change the city!
Ways to make it better...
I devoted more time - tutoring the same student every week.
In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...
Enough funding for staff to supervise more volunteers.
One thing I'd also say is that...
FLOC has been helping children in DC for over 40 years. The need is still great but FLOC is making a difference!
