I am a volunteer for Pet Project for many years. When I first started, I helped with a few fundraisers, and helped sort things for the thrift store.
Now I do home deliveries for people that are disabled, elderly, can't drive anymore or pick up their own food.
When I can help someone to be able to stay in their own home and keep their precious kitty or dog, it is a wonderful thing. To those special people and creatures, they are each other's world. They truly need each other for survival, and Pet Project provides them this opportunity with home deliveries of food, and vet care.
I deliver once a month, and these people are so grateful.
It does my heart good, when I deliver food to someone that so needs this service that Pet Project provides.
The lady in the wheelchair with her dog, the homebound lady with a cat, the nearly homeless couple in low-income housing. They told me they actually bought their dog from a crack addict for 10.00, just to save him. Then they got assistance from Pet Project to feed him. They couldn't afford food, but saved the dog from that awful life.
Pet Project has people come pick up their own food. Pet Project also provides to all the nonprofit rescues. I can't say enough about how great it is to have Pet Project helping our community by providing food and vet services to those in need.
