It was a pleasure to meet you on Sunday while we were visiting Ramblewild with a bunch of friends from the Autism Center (Worcester). I cannot say enough great things about your entire staff. They were phenomenal with everyone that attended the outing. True professionalism from start to finish.
I have two children with high functioning Asperger's. It is difficult for us because they seem to fall through the cracks in many activities because they are not "special" enough for special needs and just "strange" enough not to fit in with their neurotypical peers easily. It is very difficult as a parent to witness this time and again so, it is even more amazing for us to see them excel so well in activities such as ropes and zip-lines. It is an activity that allows them to make decisions for themself and live or recover (safely) with their decisions. The look of achievement and excitement on each face as they realize what the CAN do is truly amazing. It is an activity in which they only compete with themself and their own perception of fear. My son is afraid of heights and one of my daughters has severe anxiety and yet, they both LOVE to climb and zip. They may not have at first but, after showing them that they could do it, we haven't been able to stop them. It is truly amazing. We are usually the last ones to leave because everytime we try to leave, they want to climb just one more time!
Thank-you for having all of us out to your establishment, it benefited so many SO much more than you realize. Not only did it show each one of the kids how much they can do (like everyone) else but, it also showed Mom and Dad what they can do (just like every other child) and that is not something we get to see too often. So much of the time, these kids are being told what to do and what not to do so that they fit in or to keep them safe, etc. It was such an exhilarating feeling to be able to put our children on the course and watch them go- and GO they DID.
Thank-you again for having this special and fantastic group of people out to Ramblewild, it is an adventure that they will never forget. Thank-you to your amazing staff that did nothing but encourage and praise each and every person. A truly wonderful experience for all.
