Feeling very happy to work in PHD process supported by OI .Since 2010, I am working as a HDF to help the people who are unprivileged. Before I started working there were many issues in the communities. The community people were dependent to the political leaders or govt. agencies for resolution of their issues due to low level of consciousnes, insufficient skills and knowledge. But after my continue integration and ground working under PHDP, people improved their consciousness and interested to tackle the issues. They conducted meetings and negotiated with the agencies continue to resolve the issues. Through continue follow ups they resolved the issues. They not only resolved the issues but also improved their negotiation skills or capability, gained knowledge over the process on how to negotiate with the agency and provisions. To tackled the issues they became united. Now they are empowered, helping themshelves and helping others.
Community people are feeling happy and appreciating OI for it's support. Because through PHDP they changed their lives as: they are drinking pure water instead of canal water. Accessing electricity, led lights without using candles. Widows, handicaps and elders are accessing monthly assistance, old age people got their cataract operation, etc. Feeling happy for the changes of the community lives.
Iwould like to thank OI for giving me this opportunity for working as a HDF under its PHD process. Withen this 9 year I have not only helped the people but also improved my skills, knowledge,capability and live. I am enjoying my work and I am committed to continue work under OI to help the people to build sustainable communities and to abolish poverty.
