To Those that Care about Community!
We would like to introduce you to a great organization-- “On Your Feet” a 5012c-3 non-profit organization located in the San Diego area. They provide beneficial items to the low-income and down-hearted families both in San Diego and beyond. Founder, Geraldine Hill, started about 20 years ago when she happened upon a woman in her bare feet. Geraldine gave her the shoes off her feet, and has been gleaning from designers and manufactures all across the country since then to continue the mission. Each year there are tons of perfectly good items destroyed and poured into landfills. Annually “On Your Feet” works diligently to collect and redistribute—tons of clothing, shoes and household items and so much more into the hands of those in need. This group also Hosts 5 or more events each year, with hundreds of family’s lining up hours in advance to receive a share, as they know that great useful items – not used hand-me-downs will flow into their lives. A typical donation to a family could include a NEW Man’s Dress suit appropriate for a job interview, some clean sheets or pillows, decent shoes, kid’s clothes and toys that don’t scream thrift finds, children’s books, and sometimes enough food stuffs to stock a pantry and so much more depending on the recent collections.
This sharing process has developed into a full time endeavor for a growing crew, a bursting storage space and soaring freight/transportation costs. I hope any reading will quickly join with financial and/or like kind donations.
We have worked alongside her crew at numerous give away events. Our employees and friends have also volunteered on many occasions. It is a most fulfilling work to see the grateful faces of those receiving items that Food Stamps cannot provide.

Regards,
Debi Reed
