I traveled to Ethiopia with h2Empower to visit schools and libraries where they have worked and made an impact. I was impressed by the new water system they put into a large school that previously had no clean water, by the library and computer room they funded at another school, and by the enthusiasm of teachers they had trained. h2 Empower is making a direct impact on the education and well-being of countless students in the Hossaina area, which is very poor. Helen Boxwill, the Executive Director, is impressive in that she takes her cues for projects through collaboration with both the schools and with people who have good overviews about the structure of education in the area. She has a long history of working in this part of Ethiopia and was clearly well loved by the educators and administrators we met. I was moved to donate to this project and will continue to do so.
