I am a disabled Vietnam combat Veteran who served as a ground and Dust Off Medic for 17 months in the Delta area of Nam. Since that time, I have experienced physical disabilities related to Agent Orange, PTSD and other fine gifts from war. I realized from what my doctors were telling me that I would need a service dog to help me with everyday routines and the emotional support that automatically comes with having a K-9 friend. It took us years to find an animal that we could take as a pup and start training to become a service dog.
When we found "Karma", I immediately fell in love with her and knew she would be the ideal helper for me. I then just needed to find someone to help me with her training. That's where 4paws2freedom came into play. Once I was able to sit down with Steve and some of the other trainers like Amanda, we decided to go with4paws for Karma's training.
It takes a serious commitment on the part of the K-9 handler, but the training and the people of 4paws are some of the best in the business. Karma just turned a year old at the end of July and has been training since she was four months old. To see her progress, her maturing into a dedicated service animal has been both rewarding and a great joy. If not for Steve and Amanda and the others at 4paws, this never would have been realized. I could never begin to express my heartfelt thanks to these great people. I know that my physical needs will become greater as time passes, but I am so deeply comforted that I will have one of the best service K-9's to help me with my obstacles thanks to the people at 4paws. You guys are the BEST, hands down! Thank you for everything just does not seem to say it!
