I have been volunteering with America's Grow-A-Row for five years now. I started as a junior in high school as mandatory volunteer hours for a class. I still go out every summer and fall to volunteer in the fields.
Grow-A-Row is definitely one of my passions. I love working hard to harvest produce that all gets donated to local communities. Americans do a lot of volunteer and humanitarian work internationally, but there is very little that helps out our own people. This is one of the reasons that I love Grow-A-Row. Food insecurity exists in America and is exists in New Jersey. Volunteering with this organization helps feed hungry children in New Jersey and the surrounding states, as well as educates them about healthier options.
Farm work is really hard, but even though I am small, I can still make a big impact. America's Grow-A-Row is truly a good organization, and all of its efforts go to serving the community.
