The Bag Project is an amazing organization and is completely volunteer run. Every dollar and item donated goes directly to its mission to make bags for kids who otherwise might carry their belongings in a trash bag or might not have anything but the clothes they are wearing. The bags they distribute are full of items that kids need to feel cared for, like basic toiletries, awesome socks, literature and activity books, cozy blankets, and bottles, clothes and diapers for infants, to name a few. The Bag Project has distributed thousands of bags to a variety of organizations that work with kids in crisis as well as departments of children and family services across New Jersey. I also love how The Bag Project gets kids helping kids - they partner with local schools, churches, and other youth organizations so that kids can do their own drives, stuff bags and raise money and awareness. This organization has made a huge difference in the lives of so many kids across New Jersey!
