I have been serving in Haiti since 2009. The first 5 1/2 years were with two different organizations which had the internal means to receive and administer my funds. However, in 2016, I was presented with an opportunity to work for an incredible organization in the capital city of Port au Prince where I would be able to receive a salary. In order to make it possible, I would need to receive some personal support and the organization didn't have the capacity at the time to do that for me. So I had to find a way to handle it on my own. I had a friend who was connected with Servants of Christ, who was in a similar situation and it was working perfectly for you. So I contacted James Walters, shared my heart and my vision for my ministry and after speaking on the phone, we decided that it was a perfect match. I am SO BEYOND GRATEFUL for what SOCI has done for me. They have provided the means for me to do my ministry, without having the added stress of navigation the legal side of fundraising, dealing with the difficult tax questions and donor reports. They do it all. And I couldn't be more thankful for their ministry and the services they provide. When I connected with James and SOCI, I found a place to freedom and comfort. In a sense, I found a home.
