Review for Zoological Society of San Diego, San Diego, CA, USA

Rating: 5 stars

The Zoological Society of San Diego is working with Bioneers and The Biomimicry Institute to foster Biomimicry or "Innovation Inspired by Nature". The ZSSD is connecting the public, business and nature, to incorporate lessons learned from nature's systems/designs into industry. The goal being an more efficient economy that grows in tune with what the earth's requirements. Treehugger Article: Bioneers 2008: The San Diego Zoo Leads the Way in Biomimicry by Jaymi Heimbuch, San Francisco, California on 10.22.08 http://www.treehugger.com/files/2008/10/bioneers-san-diego-zoo-works-towards-biomimicry.php

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

the public's response to the Biomimicry presentation

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

create a national Biomimicry center

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

hearing about cutting edge partnerships

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

friendly

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

create a national biomimicry center

Ways to make it better...

I got to attend additional Biomimicry workshops

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

overcoming "green-washed" marketing and inspiring real design change

One thing I'd also say is that...

the presentation was very substancial

When was your last experience with this nonprofit?

2008

Role:  General Member of the Public & Went to Biomimicy presentation hosted by the San Diego Zoo.
