Review for Nepal Orphans Home Inc, Davidson, NC, USA
After graduating High school I came to Nepal, as my first time leaving my home country. I didn't really know what to expect but I've worked with volunteer groups in the past. NOH makes it so easy to become a part of the community and feel more at home, right away. The staff in the volunteer house are absolutely wonderful and are there to help with any problems.
Along with the people of NOH, I can say just about the same for their many placements around Nepal. They make the process easy and fun for you to choose where you are going and what you want to be doing. During my 5 Month stay in Nepal I spent 2 months becoming part of the community in a rural mountain village that has a school of about 80 that I taught at. For the rest of my time I worked in the OCPFN orphanage and EDUC school which are in neighboring neighborhoods in Kathmandu. Which brings me to another point. The neighborhood that has been built around Papa's House in Dhapasi is absolutely outstanding. You can walk down the street and people will know, without even talking with you, that you are there working with volunteer Nepal. My favorite example of this was when a man approached me as I was on my daily walk to school and asked if one of the volunteers was here in Kathmandu or when he would be back- because he wanted to see him!
Overall there is nothing that would keep me from giving NOH a 5 star rating. 100% trust, 100% easy, 100% accountable.
