Review for Veterans of Foreign Wars National Home for Children, Eaton Rapids, MI, USA
Over the last 20 + years I have seen the children from the National Home come to the Veterans of Foreign Wars National Conventions. They were having fun and entertaining the convention goers and no matter the age from very young to teens they were involved. The National Home provides so many opportunities to the children, helping them explore where their talents, skills and interests are and go from there. I have met young adults who had lived at the home as children and heard their stories of the support and love that the staff at the Home gave them and helped them through some tough times. The VFW National Home for Children offer a Case Manager so the family can set goals and then help them figure out how to accomplish these goals. It offers Counseling to help families get through and for the parent that is the Veteran counseling to help deal with their time in the service. The Home saves lives and saves families. It fosters this environment of love and hope yet offers structure to family lives so they can move forward and achieve goals they didn't know how to attain prior to living at the Home.
