Pet Peace of Mind helps hospices help their patients by providing a system to look after the patients' pets. Sometimes the only thing preventing a patient from agreeing to receive the comfort and quality of palliative care that hospice offers, is concern for what will happen to their loyal pet. Pet Peace of Mind's model removes that barrier to quality healthcare and ensures that the pet is placed with a nearby family--never a shelter--so that the patient and their pet may have some more quality time together, or at least the peace of knowing that their best friend is being lovingly cared for.

When my sister-in-law (SIL) was recovering from a lengthy hospital stay, we brought her cat, Penny, to her. Both of them benefited from the together time. Penny curled up on my SIL, and purred. SIL relaxed and felt a surge of energy--we could see her immediate improvement.

While my SIL wasn't terminally ill, this example reflects why the work Pet Peace of Mind is so important to patients who deserve the comfort of their best friend in their final days and hours.
