Review for Global Links, Pittsburgh, PA, USA
As a Pediatrician with over 35 years of experience, I have worked with many volunteer organizations. I have watched one such organization, Global Links grow from a tiny organization 20 years ago collecting outdated surgical sutures working out of a warehouse office to send to the Medically needy to the outstanding, well run, truly non-profit organization that it is today! Without doubt it has become one of the most successful organization of it's kind, helping many thousands of Medically needy providing tons of medical supplies that otherwise would have ended up in landfills. Although their primary mission is to help the needy and save lives (Global Links has helped to save many) the environmental benefits are significant. By keeping tons of used and expired medical equipment out of landfills and placing them where they can do the most good Global Links has provided both improved health for those in need while improving the environment at the same time. And you know what? They are still working out of a warehouse office! I believe Global Links is the best of the best doing outstanding work for the world's Medically under-served while helping to improve the environment. Louis A. DiNicola, MD FAAP
