Review for Sonoma County Bicycle Coalition, Santa Rosa, CA, USA
The Sonoma County Bicycle Coalition (SCBC) is a local advocate group for all bicycle riders of all levels. During the pandemic, bicycle ridership has soared, especially in temperate climates like Sonoma County, and the SCBC continues to work for bicycle infrastructure in our area. But they do A LOT more than that. Check out the website today https://www.bikesonoma.org/.
Review for Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Santa Rosa, Santa Rosa, CA, USA
I tried getting senior transportation services for my dad who is a an 83 year old veteran. I got the Catholic Charities "Senior Transportation" services number by chance from the Sebastopol Senior Center - at the time, in July 2019, the phone number for "Senior Transportation" wasn't listed on the Catholic Charities website
https://www.srcharities.org/.
After a month and several phone calls I was still unable to get the service for my dad.
Here's how it went:
Several phone calls to (707) 528-2063, left name, phone number, reason for calling.
After a month and no response, I left a voicemail for the CEO and he called me back.
The CEO had the Catholic Charities ride coordinator (?) contact me, and she said that I was at fault for not receiving a return phone call BECAUSE she couldn't understand my phone number in any of the messages I left (what kind of phones are they using? - if my multiple messages were unclear, wouldn't you look at caller ID?)
Note: a few days after being told I was to blame for no service, Catholic Charities updated their website to include the "Senior Transportation" phone number --- BUT it was an incorrect phone number!
I decided to call the wrong phone number anyway and it turned out to be a private residence AND a long-time acquaintance of mine. He informed me that Catholic Charities had done the same thing in the past, and that his family has received many phone calls for seniors wanting a ride.
Currently dad and I have an appointment to meet with Catholic Charities and discuss our experience.
We won't be using any of their services, but are serious and curious as to whether Senior Transportation really exists.
I note their website, https://www.srcharities.org, has a picture of a group of board members(?) but no contact information for any of them. We'll inquire about the contact info of the board, at the time of our visit, so that the board may be informed of our experience at the next board meeting.
As a caregiver I am extremely disappointed with my experience, thus far, with Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Santa Rosa senior transportation program. I stand by my statement, I do NOT wish to Anonymous on this matter, and my name is Denise Couey.
