Review for Ny Jazz Initiative, New York, NY, USA
The NY Jazz Initiative offers high school and college music students the opportunity to come to New York and immerse themselves in Jazz education. They study with professional musicians in both sectional rehearsals and band rehearsals during an intense week. This culminates with a concert by the students and the staff at a New York jazz club. The vibe of the NY Jazz Initiative is that they're keeping the flame burning and passing the torch to the next generation.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...
I saw the concert featuring the staff of NY Jazz Initiative and a school from Las Vegas, NV. These kids were so inspired to be playing with New York musicians, it was a real thrill to see! I haven't had that much fun watching live music in a long time.
What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...
...the concert was a blast.
The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...
...professional musicians, passionate about jazz and education.
If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...
Reach more kids in more cities, and help American music stay alive.
