Review for The Sato Project, Brooklyn, NY, USA

Rating: 5 stars

The Sato Project rescued out sweet dog Candy and allowed her to join our family one year ago. While there were a number of steps required before we could adopt Candy - including a home visit - the extra care demonstrated the commitment to finding caring, responsible and appropriate homes for their dogs.

Candy had some issues common to rescues - she was very fearful and had an aversion to men. The staff prepared us well with details of the behaviors we could expect and also put us in contact with other SATO families who could offer support and advice.

I follow the Sato Project and their work online and am impressed with the energy they bring to rescuing the many stray and abandoned dogs that inhabit the island of Puerto Rico. Tales of rescues of dogs found on "Dead Dog Beach" are nothing less than heroic. The many people associated with Sato that are involved in "Spaya-athons" and with the several freedom flights a year bringing rescued dogs to the US deserve tremendous gratitude. They are true heroes .

I am grateful to the Sato Project for all of the thousands of abandoned and stray dogs that they help every year and am most especially grateful for my own Candy.
