Space Coast Bunnies is an extremely valuable animal rescue for Brevard County. Rabbits often get forgotten about amidst cats and dogs, so having their own dedicated rescue group is essential to helping to save and better rabbit lives here on the Space Coast. I personally rescued, fostered and adopted a rabbit with SCB's help and am constantly reminded of the good works they do on their Facebook page, like rescuing rabbits, getting them medical care, spays and neuters, and general support for the rabbit owners. I don't know that I would have been able to handle taking in my rabbit on my own, but I felt that SCB's help and support made it possible.

This rescue is one of only a couple of rabbit rescues for all of Long Island, stretching from Queens all the way to the end of Suffolk County. Despite limited resources the entirely volunteer and donation-based group does what they can to make life better for domestic rabbits on the island. They rescue abandoned rabbits, give them vet care, and care for them in foster homes until they can be adopted. They also assist owners with care and have created a network of volunteers at-the-ready to assist with whatever help is needed.

I personally have learned so much about rabbits and rescuing animals in general. I’m forever grateful to them for creating a community of full of knowledge, experience, and connections. I have adopted 3 rabbits from them, participated in rescues, transports, vet visits, adoptions, education fairs and more. The volunteers also provide amazing moral support for nearly every rabbit situation you could think of. I’d have never made it through bonding my latest pair without them. Rabbits and rabbit owners are so fortunate to have the LIRRG operating in their neighborhoods.
