Review for Filter Of Hope, Inc., Tuscaloosa, AL, USA

Rating: 5 stars

As the mission director of Grace Evangelical Church, I have seen, heard and read numerus articles on water contamination around the world! I have had the privilege of going on over thirty mission trips, seeing firsthand the effects of what contaminated water does to the health of men, woman and children, even to the point of death. I have traveled and spent time in remote and not so remote parts of the world and have personally seen the need for clean water. I have seen how dirty water affects people lives and drains their meager resources. I began looking for ways our church could help stop the effects of drinking, cooking and bathing in contaminated water.
As I continued searching for a better solution, I found a product called Filters of Hope. These filters took out the issues that all other methods and solutions could not. It’s a small portable filter unit that will produce 150 gallons of safe clean drinkable water a day. As I read about this filter, how it is constructed and how easy it is to use and maintain, I was sold! They are small, light-weight and packaged in a zip-lock bag, perfect for packing several in your checked luggage.
I contacted Filters of Hope to find out even more about their filter, their distribution, their cost, and how Grace Evangelical Church could take these filters with us on our mission trips, and even help get them distributed to the rest of the world.
I have seen firsthand how these filters remove 99% of the contaminants from the water. I have seen the joy and relief of the people when they know this will keep children and themselves from suffering from water born illnesses. We have seen and heard great testimonies from those who have received these filters and from our members who have gone and given them out. I witnessed an orphanage in Haiti that had a well but couldn’t drink or wash with this water. They were purchasing water for the children and staff. We set up two Filters of Hope filters and started filtering their well water, saving them the need to buy water. I’ve seen the tears of mothers (tears of joy) whose children had been suffering with sicknesses from the contaminated water and now they have a way of ending their children’s illnesses by having clean water. The filters are also an opportunity to share the Gospel, showing how the dirty water is an example of what I was like before Jesus cleansed me, like the filter cleans the water and makes it pure.
