I was fortunate to have learned about this incredible organization through a radio broadcast, Main Street Out Loud. Through the sincerity in Karen's voice and the many aspects of the Hugs Project Incorporated, I wanted to contribute and learn more. During a cross country road trip my husband and I planned time to not only meet the volunteers and see the "process", but volunteer some time ourselves. It was a well-organized group, several "stations", some with items being donated, other staging areas with the boxes to fill and a serpentine area of items to put in the boxes. Another area was set to address the personalized boxes for shipping. There was SO much excitement, such positive energy there surrounding being able to contribute and prepare packages for our deployed troops. I can't begin to imagine the wonderful benefits of receiving a package, when stationed so far from home.. along with the PTSD support after coming home. This nonprofit is such a "class act". I could not be more thankful and grateful for Karen, Ray and the entire group, and all the volunteers who make this effort so successful. Just take a look at the other reviews and you will see a common thread. Please, donate or volunteer. You may receive more than you give- by the pride of being part of this great team.
