Review for Junior Achievement of New York, New York, NY, USA
I had a really great time volunteering for JA this past spring semester. Over the span of 5 weeks, I co-taught a kindergarten class the basics of financial literacy: what it means to earn, save, and spend money.
JA's provided curriculum made volunteer preparation a breeze and, more importantly, made the children light up each week. From stories to stickers to games, the kindergarteners were always engaged. In fact, they often wanted to discuss the topics at hand longer than the allotted time slot, whether it be naming their dream jobs or describing their favorite ways to help parents around the house.
All in all, after growing up in an elementary school utilizing JA and now volunteering on the other side of things, I highly recommend JA of NY for any teachers or volunteers wanting to help children kickstart futures of success!
