Review for Players For Pits, Warrenville, IL, USA
If you are looking to adopt a dog, do not even consider this place. The whole organization is a facade. The owner is only in it for herself and how many "medical cases" the organization can take on to look good in the rescue world and general public. They spend no time teaching their fosters how to properly take care of their temp family member. If you try to invest your time and money caring and training your foster, you will get scolded for not 'following policy' because you are not using their training methods... which are non-existent. You know the tragic fire that happened Jan 14, 2019? PFP used that trainer and facility knowing full well the red flags involved. If there was not a foster to take on a dog, PFP would place them in that facility until "space" opened up. Most of the dogs never found their "space" because there weren't fosters available. The dogs in that facility were not being trained or taken care of, and losing weight and their hair. The owner of PFP knew about these issues and refused to make these concerns a priority. Bottom line is this rescue is a joke. Please do yourself a favor and adopt from a rescue that actually takes the time to vet their applicants rather than quickly placing dogs in families that are unable to fully handle them. Another tip; If you are looking to rescue ask; How many of the dogs that have been adopted were returned back to the rescue? You'd be surprised at the number of returned dogs PFP had to take back.
