Leadership at the Mission encourages volunteers to get creative in the way they serve. Over the years, my family & I have served Communion, hosted a Valentine's party, and participated in a variety of opportunities at and through the Mission. In 2017 we started a running club for Mission clients as a way to teach goal-setting and the physical and psychological benefits of healthy living. When approached, leadership simply asked how they could help, which they did by providing transportation for participants to workouts and races alike. Those completing running club sessions developed a sense of accomplishment through disciplining themselves with a specific goal in mind. I am proud to be associated with Rescue Mission of the Mahoning Valley.
