Review for Progressive Animal Welfare Society of Bainbridge Island & North Kitsap, Bainbridge Is, WA, USA
I cannot even begin to tell you what PAWS means to me. I am 72 years old and low income. When I first came to the island, I had a my social security and a small IRA. Shortly after adopting my cats, I was diagnosed with a terminal disease and at one point was put on life support. I am doing well and holding on. I don't look or act sick but my disease is still progressing. My cats (Annie and Big Boy) have always been important to me but since my illness they have become a big part of my life. I swear they can tell when I don't feel well or if I'm a little sad.
Unfortunately, my IRA ran out in December 2017. As I am single and my sole support, I cut down on everything! I have two kitties, the loves of my heart, and I was terrified I might have to give them up.
PAWS was there for us and has paid for our yearly visit to the vets for 2018 and 2019. There also had been an unexpected trip (false alarm) earlier that PAWS helped with. If it weren't for the generosity of PAWS, I would not have my pets today. It makes me tear up when I think of what good work this organization does .
I'm attaching a picture and 2 face shots so you can see what little rascals they are!
