Review for Dispute Settlement Center, Inc., Wilton, CT, USA

Rating: 5 stars

The Dispute Settlement Center is a little known non for profit that accomplishes great things. They keep their staff lean and really place as much money into accomplishing their goals. They provide mediation services to assist juveniles avoid going into the court system, set up peer mediation programs in several schools, receive grant money to help people avoid losing their homes in foreclosure and provide affordable mediation services to the community for a whole host of disputes.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

I have evaluated its success at a Board level.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

Build up it's donor base so they can continue to do the meaningful work that they do.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

The meaningful work they do and the resources they provide. They accomplish a great deal to resolve disputes on a small budget and make a big difference in the community.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

Bright, resourceful, educated in their area of expertise, kind and caring

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

Really make a difference in keeping juveniles out of the court system and setting up mediation programs in several schools in Connecticut which in turn would lower the crime rate dramatically. Also, they would have more funds to keep people in their home

Ways to make it better...

If they had a larger Board in order to help this organization continue to grow.

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

Funding is a large challenge in these economic times

How frequently have you been involved with the organization?
