Review for Christian Academy of the Cumberlands, Crossville, TN, USA
Last year was my first year to teach in a private Christian school. The class size is much smaller than in public school, allowing for more individualized learning. Beginning everyday with Bible class gives emphasis on shared values while dignity and respect are values encouraged at every turn. Our children are in a safe and stable environment that also provides a strong academic program. Look at the data and see why CAC, like other private schools, is well above basic state standards:
"A recent recap of high school graduates showed private school students scoring
3.1 points higher on the ACT test. The same disparity is found between primary
and middle schools, according to the NCES. A comparison of mathematics tests
showed private schools scored 18 points higher for eighth graders and 8 points
higher for fourth graders. Reading had the same results, with the private schools
outscoring their public counterparts by 18 points in eighth grade and 15 points in
fourth grade" ( Lindenberger, June 26, 2019).
