Review for Edu-Girls Inc, Bethesda, MD, USA
Edu Girls is unique in its model of taking girls from poverty to financial independence. They are educated in schools partly funded by Edu Girls with top rated teachers; both students and teachers undergo continuous testing for evaluation and success. The girls are provided with assitance at all levels, not just financial to get to the goal of being able to stand on their own feet, post graduation in school, college and at the vocational level if that is where their aptitude lies. There are 2000+ girls currently in the program, and it is expanding with additional schools throughout South Asia. I have been involved with the program for some years and am gratified to see girls entering medical school as well as pursuing professional degrees.

Edu Girls is an organisation dedicated to the education of girls living in poverty. The model is quite unique in that the girls are followed right from their entry into a school, ending only when they achieve financial independence, in the form of a well paying job. This allows the girls to thrive and achieve maximum potential which may be on a vocational track or a college track dependent on their aptitude and circumstances.
The model is replicable and there are 6 schools to date in the program. Our experience with Edu Girls has been very positive and we look forward to continued success together.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...
Bring in more professional help, but of course the constraint is the level of funding needed.

They are doing a great job even through the pandemic when schools closed. First, they pivoted to providing providing food rations for the families of the girls. This had the add-on effect that the families suddenly began to realise how valuable their girl children were, as they were now putting food on the table for the family! Then they switched to digital learning in a big way by providing pre loaded tablets with course ware to the girls so that the teachers could continue teaching on-line! Bravo! Keep up the good work Edu-Girls.

I first met the founder Anand Seth on the golf course and heard about his passion Edu Girls, and its unique model in taking girls from poverty (slums in South Asia) and taking them to financial independence, ie. a steady income after graduation. It appealed to me tremendously though I realised that it would take some time for maturity as many girls would have to pass through the system to gauge the effectiveness of the model. The number of girls enrolled is growing year by year and the first batches are graduating with a few placed into jobs and others into college etc.
I was pleased to bring the second school into the program the SRGVVK Trust in the outskirts of Bengaluru India (used to be a rural village but now almost part of the sprawling city!). It too is increasing the amount of girls enrolled.
I am now on the Board and pleased to be supporting all the work that goes into this mission from the small dedicated team and to see that most of the dollar donated goes to the schools.
I attach a video from SRGVVK below in support of the Edu Girls mission, and would suggest to the reader to get on board and donate, volunteer, whatever it takes to support this noble effort. I see it as a long term effort to both lift girls and their families and subsequent generations out of poverty, as well as combating terrorism by simply educating the girls and providing them options in life which would otherwise not be available to them
