Review for SFK--Success For Kids, Los Angeles, CA, USA

Rating: 5 stars

I want to express my outmost appreciation for the tremendous opportunity to be a part of SFK; and to have been able to share in the experience of a lifetime, last year at Holmes Elementary. When the children start looking up to you in the classroom, you know every small action you do will shape the rest of their lives. This filled me with a tremendous responsibility and a never before felt desire to be good, and to do good, by them, their teachers, their families and eventually the world. To be a part of a movement like this is an unbelievable blessing. The moments we shared at Holmes elementary changed my life for the better and I can’t wait to get back in the classroom. Thanks! All the best to your organization!

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

My personal life, when dealing with the personal issues of others. I've come to appreciate the unity we all share at a deep level. It has made me a better person.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

This organization is absolutely needed. I would leverage their operations with funding and media awareness. If you cold only see the change in the young students after just a few classes! They need to grow and reach many more schools.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

They have a sincere interest in helping children deal with their life issues and become stronger adults that will make a difference. They are also very flexible with your schedule.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

Friendly, helpful, very positive and bright. Overall wonderful staff.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

They would definitely change the world for the better. And do it the right way, which is from the inside out. And from the roots, which are our children.

Ways to make it better...

I wish I'd have more time to get more involved.

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

Growth. The need funding and volunteers.

One thing I'd also say is that...

The interesting thing of working with SFK is that it impacts you as a person. When you're teaching the kids, you are teaching yourself; coming to harmony with your own life and people around you. It is amazing.

How frequently have you been involved with the organization?

About every month

When was your last experience with this nonprofit?

2009

Role:  Volunteer & Teacher{s assistant in classroom.
