I had the opportunity to volunteer at the Elephant Sanctuary on June 29, 2019. The Discovery Center in Hohenwald, TN was the beginning of an exceptional day. This building is designed in a clean, family friendly, interactive and educational way. Todd Montgomery, Education & Volunteer Director, does an amazing job with presentations for the public, schools and our group of volunteers on the 29th. We spent the day doing manual labor type "chores", such as weeding at the main property, pruning trees at the Sanctuary, cutting vines off fences, making awesome elephant enrichment toys, (think Kong toys for elephants, with tires stuffed with hay and bamboo leaves), and much more.

The care, dedication and professionalism of all staff at this Elephant Sanctuary is absolutely five stars. Their heartfelt feeling for what they do shines while watching them work and in their connection with the elephants. It was a fantastic day.
