I just volunteered for a day at the Hohenwald, TN Elephant Sanctuary. What a heartwarming experience. It was a hot, sweaty day of physical labor and I wish I could do it every week. The elephants are so well loved and cared for. They have so much room to roam and do whatever they want. After years of abuse and loneliness to have this freedom and companionship is just awesome. The workers we came into contact with were professional and knowledgeable. It’s all about the elephants and what they need and want. What an amazing place.
