I cannot express how happy I am! I reached out to three different organizations here on the shore and Town Cats was so quick to go above and beyond. Not only did they respond to my requests quickly, but they came out to my house to meet my cat and dog and figure out the best little pal for my family!

To give a short backstory, I was hesitant bringing a new cat into my home as my current cat “Darcy” was very obsessed with me (this is putting it lightly!! LOL) I was worried a new cat would disrupt their happiness or my home would seem threatening to the new cat, but Chris and Lori eased my mind quickly. My goal was to find the perfect cat that would be a companion to Darcy and entertain her while I wasn’t around. They talked to me for days trying to figure out who would be a perfect addition to my craziness, and we finally decided on one of their Barn Cats. I was nervous to be honest. I felt I was in a unique position because I knew I didn’t need a cat that was going to cuddle me all day (ALREADY HAD ONE!) but I didn’t want to end up with a cat that was unhappy moving into my home!! Chris assured me Georgie was going to be the best cat, that he may take time to warm up, but that the Barn Cats are just as capable of bringing happiness to the home. MAN am I glad I listened to her. Georgie has so quickly become a perfect fit in my family. He lays with my dog and plays with the other cat, and even lets me pet him for as long as I want.

This whole experience has truly reminded me that you can’t judge a book by it’s cover. The Barn Cats may not be the first choice because of their background, or lack of enthusiasm during visits, but so what? So are some people we meet!!! (LOL) If I would have just assumed the Barn Cats were the unlovable kind, I would be missing out on the most loving cat I could have ever imagined. Thank you all for such a wonderful gift.
