Review for Global Links, Pittsburgh, PA, USA

Rating: 5 stars

I think this is a great organization with two very important goals - reducing waste that is tossed needlessly into landfills and sending much needed medical supplies to underdeveloped countries.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

our local community. The amount of supplies I alone have helped pack... to think they would all just be thrown away when someone else could use them.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

maybe organize more fundraising events.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

I feel as though I am doing something important for an organization that can really have a positive impact on the world.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

friendly, helpful, and passionate about their work.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

have a great worldwide impact. It would no longer be limited in where it gathers supplies from or where it could send them to.

Ways to make it better...

they had more space. Usually when I am there there are groups and individuals volunteering. It can get a bit cramped. I hope someday they have the ability to expand.

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

finding hospitals that are willing to donate the supplies that are needed and that can be used and developing relationships with the countries the supplies are sent to.

One thing I'd also say is that...

Global Links has been around almost as long as I've been alive, yet I just recently learned about them. I think if they could find different ways to make their pesence known they would be flooded with volunteers.

When was your last experience with this nonprofit?

2009

Role:  Volunteer & I pack and sort medical supplies.
