Review for Houston International Film Festival, Houston, TX, USA
My family and I are both long-time sponsors and board members of the WorldFest Houston Intl Film Festival. It is an exceptional and unique event. They sponsor more than 200 scholarships to their Master Classes in film production each year, and present a truly World-Class international film festival each April. They premiere more than 150 new films from all over the world, and most of the films are presented by their directors in-person. This is a very special and unique intl film event. We have attended film festivals all over, from Sundance to Toronto and WorldFest is a truly wonderful experience. They have honored great legends in film, such as James Stewart, Ginger Rogers, Ray Bradbury, Rod Steiger and Kirk Douglas. They gave first awards to Spielberg, Ang Lee, Ridley Scott and John Lee Hancock. They are truly a Texas Treasure.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...
Seeing the WorldFest Scholarships to the Master Classes in film & video production change young lives and open up a path to the future for them.
If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...
like to see them receive mire financial support so they can do an even better job! They do an amazing film festival on a very small annual budget.
What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...
Seeing new films and meeting new filmmakers and hosting dinner parties for the honorees.
The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...
Young students, retired business executives and filmmkaers! All very talented!
If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...
Be a film festival on par with Cannes and Toronto, which have budgets in that range.
Ways to make it better...
I could have helped more with a larger support donation.
In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...
Funding in these very difficult times!
One thing I'd also say is that...
This WorldFest is a very rare gem, a smoothly run, well-oiled little festival machine. Lots of fun, meet great new filmmakers and see some truly amazing films!
