Review for The Goathouse Refuge, Pittsboro, NC, USA
The Goathouse is the best cat rescue and sanctuary I have ever seen. There are over 200 cats there, all rescued from high-kill shelters or dangerous situations, yet the premises are sparkling clean. There are a cadre of dedicated long-time volunteers that are committed to the animals. The crown jewel is Siglinda Scarpa, the founder and head of the Goathouse. She is an eminent artist and potter and every penny she earns of her pottery sales go toward the animals. Adoptions are done very carefully, with an application and a home visit. The cats are all given veterinary treatment, such as dental work for the older cats with rotten teeth. I've never seen such dedication to a cause and I recommend the Goathouse Refuge with all my heart. We are in the process of adopting a senior cat from there and the process has been wonderful.

LCA is the GOAT of animal charities and I am extremely grateful they are out there doing the difficult work of reporting on some of the worst cruelty imaginable done to the voiceless, the animals. Bless all of them --- I hope they know that my family and I will always support them!

I have been following Last Chance for Animals for several decades. They are the most dedicated and effective group. LCA is tireless in their efforts to fight the most horrific animal abuse on the planet, including the vile Yulin Dog Meat Festival.
LCA gives me hope for humanity and the planet.
