I am a volunteer with the Kauai Humane Society. I volunteer assisting with surgeries. I cannot think of a better group of people to work with. They are the most caring people I have ever met. Their Field Trip program has helped to get so many dogs adopted. Their low cost spay and neuter programs helps so much with the overpopulation of dogs and cats on this little island. Their community care clinic assists so many that can't afford to go to a regular vet clinic for care. It is so much easier financially to make sure your pet gets the care they need. Their food program helps those that are struggling financially to keep their fur kids fed. They also do community outreach and go out where people need the help but can't come into the shelter. The way they care for all the animals is heartwarming. And...they are all just good people.

I started with Animal Balance when they offered low cost, basically donation, spay and neuter of my landlord's 2 dogs. I appreciated the service to our community so much that I thought I would volunteer for a few hours. That turned into 4 long days. I enjoyed working with and learning so much from this amazing group of people that I have volunteered for 2 campaigns since then and am preparing for another one in September. I hope to at some point, be able to travel and volunteer at other locations with them.
