I got into horse rescue through a friend of mine who needed help transporting a rescue horse to Save the Horses. Little did I know how this would impact my life so profoundly.

Because I own 2 horse trailers, I offered to make the trip to assist in saving this horse. I have never looked back or been sorry for getting involved. This organization does an outstanding job rescuing farm animals, not just horses. I have transported donkeys and pigs as well as other animals when needed.

They run solely on donations so it is important to give when we can to assist in their rescues. Many times farm animals are in need of new homes due to the loss of a caregiver's life or farm through no fault of their own.

Then there are times when a sheriff's office will call them to pick up an animal who has been so neglected they are on the brink of death. We have always offered to foster when we have room. Currently we are fostering a large blind horse who is 20 years old. If it weren't for Save the Horses, this horse would not have survived. He has a mini donkey as a playmate and they get along great!

This organization offers equine education for those who wish to assist. Volunteers get hands on experience with these magnificent animals.

I often transport horses and sometimes other animals as well for Save the Horses. I cannot think of any other rescue that is more committed to saving animals such as this one. I've fostered a horse for them and have had the pleasure of educating children from our horse club about equine rehab and rescue because of this great organization who has sponsored rescue horses kept at our place in their time of need. Rescue horses come in all kinds of shape needing help. Our horse club has had the pleasure of bringing a horse back to health when they have to gain 300 plus pounds, covered with bacterial skin infections from head to hoof and needed to have all scabs removed to treat the skin so they could heal.
The experience our group has witnessed through working with this group is phenomenal. Praise God for groups like this who truly love each animal they rescue!
