My momma, Sharon Hayes, and I love big cats. When we started watching Big Cat Derek, we also started making donations to the sanctuary. Becoming a oart of the Pride Strong family. The next step was becoming a sponsor. Then we decided to became an adoptive parent. We were invited to come visit during the annual fall festival. All of my momma's dreams came true when she was able to walk around the compound and talk to big cats while supervised tour guides told us all about each baby. When we got back home, we were able to make one of CARE's dreams come true by providing a truckload of steel tubing from my daddys steel company, Woodstock Tube, LLC, to help with projects around the CARE sanctuary. Being a part of the CARE family brings me so much joy. I lost my momma Nov 30, 2018 to lung cancer and I lost my daddy. RICK Hayes, in Oct 3, 2022 to vascular dementia. My CARE family reached out to me on both tragic moments in my life. CARE even made my momma a life time sponsor to her favorite tiger named Archie. I continue making monthly contributions to honor both my parents and our favorite place on earth. The entire CARE community teaches you so much every time you visit the sanctuary or visit their social media pages or visit their website. They even have hands on internships to help people achieve their dream of helping wild animals live longer, healthier lives. The animals at CARE live so much longer in captivity because the volunteers and staff take such good care of all the animals. CARE really is dedicated to the animals long-term care. "They provide a safe, permanent, and loving home to animals in need with a focus on excellence in physical and emotional care; education; and research that will improve living conditions for captive animal populations worldwide." CARE also takes care of the humans who love volunteering, who love helping, and who love taking care of CAREs friends, families, and animals. We are Pride Strong.

I love C.A.R.E. and if you go visit the sanctuary....I'm sure you will love C.A.R.E. too. My favorite part is the sights, sounds and smells. When you see the C.A.R.E. enclosures, they are so open, so spacious and so clean with special items for their entertainment and each animal shows you just how much they love living at C.A.R.E. When the smell of C.A.R.E. gets in your nose, you just breathe it in and soak it up and gets into your soul...you never forget it. When you hear the animals talk, their purrs, squeaks, chuffs, snuffles, moos, roars, and mews puts a smile on your face and you just want more. The people, staff and volunteers are pretty amazing too. I live in Alabama and when I visit I always feel at home. I love being a part the C.A.R.E. family.
